Itineraries

Day 1

Porto

Reception at the airport, transfer to the hotel. Rest of the day at leisure.

Day 2

Porto

The second largest city in Portugal, Porto, has a unique beauty. Known for Port wine and the river Douro. Places to visit: the UNESCO World Heritage city center, the Sé do Porto dated from the 18th century, Igreja de São Francisco, the Torre dos Clérigos (this icon of the city was built in the 18th century), the Palácio da Bolsa and the Port wine cellars.

Day 3

Porto / Guimarães / Braga

The day begins in Guimarães, birthplace of Portugal, to visit the imposing Castle, the Palácio dos Duques de Bragança and Praça da Oliveira, a UNESCO World Heritage site. After lunch departure to Braga, a city with more than 2000 year of history founded by the emperor Caesar Augustus. Visit to the Cathedral, the oldest in the country and the Sanctuary of Bom Jesus do Monte.

Day 4

Braga / Gerês / Barcelos / Braga

Trip to the Parque Nacional da Peneda-Gerês (Peneda-Gerês National Park), one of the main natural reserves of the country, which includes a visit to a waterfall. After lunch departure for Barcelos, home of the iconic symbol of Portugal, the Barcelos Rooster. Visit to the Igreja de Santa Maria Maior, Templo do Bom Senhor Jesus da Cruz and the medieval tower in the historical center. Return to Braga.

Day 5

Braga / Valença / Viana do Castelo / Porto

Trip to Valença on the northern border to visit its fort. The trip continues bound for Viana do Castelo to visit the historical centre, have lunch and visit the Santuário de Santa Luzia (St.Lucia’s Sanctuary), a wonderful monument with a stunning view. Return to Porto and check in at the hotel. Rest of the day at leisure.

Day 6

Porto

Morning at leisure to explore a little more of Porto. Transfer to Porto airport.

•Transfers to and from the airport;

•Private transport with driver throughout the whole itinerary;

•Admission in the mentioned monuments

•Visit and wine tasting at Port wine cellars.

• In the rent-a-car Renault Megane Diesel Automatic (automatic gear) with GPS for all the days of the program, with pick-up and drof-off at the airport; • Bed and Brekfast Accommodation in First class hotels (3* Sup or 4*) for all the nights of the programs – check-in at 3pm and check-out at 11am;

• Tickets to the monuments and attractions explicitly indicated in the program.
